Our Faith

GBC (Glorious Bible Church) is a non denominational, evangelical, organization that believes in the truth of the Bible as it is written in its most common versions.

The tenets below give a description of our faith.

1

The Bible is God’s actual words that reveal His plan for us. (II Timothy 3: 15-17; I Peter 1: 23-25; Hebrews 4: 12)

2

The Trinity is made up of God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit. All three exist together to make the Triune God found in Scripture complete. (Matthew 28: 19; I John 5: 7; Isaiah 9: 6)

3

You and I are created by God’s very own Hand. However, because we 1) were born into sin, and 2) have deliberately sinned and separated ourselves from God, our only way back to Him is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who shed His Blood and died on the Cross for us. (Genesis 1: 26-31; Romans 5: 12-21; John 14: 6)

4

Our freedom from sin and entrance into God’s Kingdom a) Jesus Christ supplies us with salvation and healing. Isaiah 53: 5. Salvation comes by believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord over- and first place in our lives. (Romans 10: 9-10; Ephesians 2: 8 ) b) We know we are saved because of the Holy Spirit’s witness in our spirit. Romans 8:16. We show we are saved by our outward actions of holy living and displaying the love of Jesus Christ to all. (I John 3: 23; John 13: 35) c) Salvation is achieved by our inward faith in Jesus Christ and not by outward human works. However, our outward works are evident signs of our faith and determine the extent of our rewards in Heaven. (Ephesians 2: 8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 14: 10-12; II Corinthians 5: 10; Titus 3: 5-7; James 2: 18)

5

Water Baptism is a bold illustration to the world that we have spiritually died with Christ and been spiritually raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Romans 6: 4; Matthew 28: 19; Acts 10: 47-48)

6

The Lord’s Supper is the celebration of Christ’s death and resurrection; whereby we eat of the bread (Christ’s broken Body) and drink from the cup (Christ’s shed Blood). (I Corinthians 11: 24-30)

7

Beyond salvation, all believers should receive God’s promise of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. With this, God gives us extraordinary power and gifts to carry out His purpose for our life. (Luke 24: 49; Acts 1: 4-8; 2: 38-39; 10: 44-46; 11: 14-16)

8

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is real. There are two confirmations: first, the beginning tangible sign of speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit leads; and second, the unexplainable progression to having more and more power to do what God has called us to do. (Acts 1: 8; 2: 4; 19: 6)

9

The Church is the Body of Christ, with every believer being an important team member. (Ephesians 1: 22; 2: 19-22; 4: 25)

10

Whole-Person Prosperity a) Spirit-Prosperity (John 3: 3; John 3: 16; II Corinthians 5: 17) b) Mind-Prosperity (II Timothy 1: 7; Romans 12: 2; Isaiah 26: 3; Romans 8: 28) c) Body-Prosperity (Isaiah 53: 4-5; III John 2; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2: 24) d) Finances-Prosperity (III John 2; Malachi 3: 10-11; Luke 6: 38; II Corinthians 9: 6-10; Deuteronomy 28: 1-14) e) Relationship-Prosperity (Proverbs 3: 4; Psalm 133: 1-3)

11

Rapture: the believer’s blessed assurance that Jesus is coming back, to gather the faithful that are waiting and watching for Him, (the Church) to Heaven. (I Corinthians 15: 51-52; I Thessalonians 4: 16-17; II Thessalonians 2: 1)

12

Non-believers who have turned down Christ’s offer of salvation are on a collision course with the never-ending separation from God, and the never-ending torment in Hell as payment for being unrepentant. (Revelation 19: 20; Revelation 20: 10-15)

13

The 1000 Year Reign of Jesus: Jesus Christ will leave Heaven and come to rule on earth during His Millennial Reign (II Thessalonians 1: 7; Revelation 19: 11-16; Revelation 20: 1-7), and follow up with a new heaven and a new earth. (Revelation 21)
